Estonian House New York
Architecture / Interior Design

We were asked to design the new floor for the Estonia House New York. Located on 34th street this landmark building has been the home for the Estonian community in New York since the late 40s.

The design challenge was to create a flexible space that could be used for theater performances, school meetings, film screenings, art events and also for festive occasions with a bar area without compromising the aesthetic. The main space is divided into the stage area, audience floor and library lounge. The custom shelving units can easily been moved around to re-defined the use of the space and the custom tables can be set up to function as classroom desks or folded into each other creating a bar.
