Literaturhaus
Branding / Identity / Interior Design We were honored to be asked to come up with the brand concept and design the identity and interiors for the first house of literature in Denmark. The name LiteraturHaus was decided upon to pay homage to the first House of Literature in Germany. To represent the heritage and legacy as well as create an identity for a new generation in the Literary community we explored various directions of old school printing techniques, ex libris and press print mixed with modern typography and collage. The interior is designed to be flexible to the different functions such as readings, literary lunches, book releases and performance events. We designed the bar around the idea of a literary gathering with its 16' long oak table as a centerpiece that forms the bar counter. The shelves in the large blocked out church windows display old books and bottles mixed together. The white "stairs" throughout the space represent speaker chairs, and also function as seats or put together they form a stage. Nobel prize winner Gunther Grass graced the opening with his presence and since it has become a well respected institution in the intellectual community of Denmark. |
